In the Mountains of Mitono

Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Shinsen Taikoki)

In the Mountains of Mitono - Lovely scene of the wife of Akechi Mitsuhide writing a poem slip at a secluded home in the mountains of Mitono, looking over her shoulder to admire the full moon. Her outer robe is shaded from violet to yellow with a design of bamboo leaves and tied-dyed rings, worn over a faintly embossed white kimono patterned with cherry blossoms. She sits next to a lamp, with a writing set on the floor nearby. A beauty kneels at left, her hands clasped on her lap. Pine trees frame a view of the moon, with dark clouds drifting across the evening sky. A beautifully detailed subject, with fine bokashi shading in the sky and additional light embossing on the pink kimono.
