Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.
Comments - Great Hiroshige fan print depicting a traveler on horseback crossing a stream during a rain shower. The man is hidden beneath a straw covering, only his feet visible, as the rain falls straight down, creating white splashes as it his the water and ground. A charming image, wonderfully detailed. We've never come across this subject in reprint before.
