Beauty under a Blossoming Cherry Tree at Night, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Charming portrait of a beauty enjoying an evening stroll beneath a blossoming cherry tree. She smiles as she looks up, adjusting a hairpin with one hand while holding the edges of her kimono together with the other. She wears a violet kimono patterned with leaves over a maple leaf print robe and red under robe, tied with a black brocade obi. White blossoms and buds dot the branches of the ancient tree. A lovely design.
