Commoner with a Pipe and Tobacco Set, 1861 - Great kabuki portrait of a commoner with an ornate pipe in one hand and a tobacco set in the other, scowling angrily as he looks to the side. A purple robe with large kanji characters is draped over his shoulders, worn over a blue and gray striped kimono and red under robe. Bamboo leaves in dark silhouette frame the night sky. A handsome design.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical and diagonal folds. A few holes, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, slight toning and soiling, rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
