Plum Blossoms at Night, 1847 - 1852 - Charming image of a beauty on an outing to view the plum blossoms at night. She smiles as she looks over her shoulder, holding the edges of her kimono together with one hand. White blossoms and buds dot the enormous old tree, its trunk and branches rendered in bold calligraphic strokes against the evening sky. A classic Edo era subject.
