Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Taira no Munemori, 1847

Comments - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Genke Hachidai Megumi no tsuwamono" of Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Taira no Munemori, tugging on the sleeve of a beauty's robe, a strange expression on his face. He wears a matching coat and kimono patterned with bands of blue with phoenixes and white with brown blossoms, his hair pulled back into a slender topknot. A handsome portrait.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 3/4" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Diagonal folds. Small loss and thinning spot, a few holes, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, toning, slight soiling, rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
