Comments - Handsome scene of the Meiji Emperor preparing to greet waiting dignitaries, with palace ladies-in-waiting gathered around him. He wears a military dress uniform, an attendant holding his plumed cap on a purple silk cloth. Guests are seated in chairs along the edges of the room beyond. An interesting scene, nicely detailed with embossing on the white robes.
