In series field, put: From an untitled series of actors with poems

Worried Boatman, 1860 - Interesting kabuki portrait of a boatman resting on one knee, tilting his head with a worried expression as he holds one finger to his cheek. He wears a boldly checked kimono over a rust colored shirt and black undergarment, and a blue tie-dyed loincloth. His oar rests against the roof of a small shed at left, and a red paper lantern and drapery frame the top of the image. An expressive figure.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Dried tape residue on reverse at two spots. A few small holes and thinning spots, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, slight toning and soiling, a few stains. Please see photos for details.
