Benkei Moat outside Sakurada, 1854 - Beautiful winter view of the Benkei Moat outside Sakurada in Edo. Several birds float on the calm water, snow blanketing the embankments and the trees lining the road along the water's edge. The famous Cherry-tree Well can be seen on the shore at left, with three pulleys sheltered beneath a small peaked roof, and a fire tower can just be seen at upper right next to the red title cartouche. An attractive design with clouds framing the scene.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Losses at edges, a few holes and thinning spots, repaired with backing. Toning, soiling, staining, vertical fold. Please see photos for details.
