Cherry-blossom Viewing at Asuka Hill, 1853 - Terrific scene of a procession of beauties making their way along Asuka Hill to view the blossoming cherry trees. The women and young girls all wear blue and white checked kimono over red under robes, and carry matching umbrellas. A low fence at left surrounds a stone marker beneath the tall pines. At center right, picnickers relax on mats spread beneath the trees. A rarely seen design.
