Beauty Writing a Letter

Comments - Lovely scene of three beauties relaxing in a room overlooking the water. The seated woman in the center looks up from a letter she is writing, the brush caught between her teeth as the paper trails onto the floor. Her companion at left holds a flute, the panel behind her decorated with cranes. At lower right, a koto can be seen at the foot of the standing beauty. Mountains run along the horizon, and the houses of a city crowd together at the curving shore at right upper right. An attractive Edo era beauty design, nicely detailed with embossing on the white kimono collars, and faint embossing on the letter.
