Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Tokyo Riverbank in Spring

Comments - Charming scene of pedestrians strolling along the bank of the Sumida River in Tokyo in springtime, the cherry trees covered with pink and red blossoms and buds. A stone torii gate can be seen at lower right, with people relaxing in at a tea stand just beyond. In the center, a man offers a cup of sake to two beauties under an umbrella, one giggling into her sleeve. On the path behind them at right, a man dances about, waving his arms and hopping on one foot. An attractive scene with a handsome composition.
