Nakamura Shikan as Ohatsu, 1819

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as the beauty Ohatsu, eavesdropping from behind a blind. She frowns angrily as she leans forward to listen, her chin tilted up defiantly. Her intricately patterned green kimono is tied with a black and gray obi decorated with cherry blossoms. At lattice window can be seen at upper left with a rolled up blind above. A nice expressive figure in an interesting interior setting, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kuniyasu (1794 - 1832)

Image Size - 15 1/8" x 10 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases, stain at edge. Please see photos for details.
