Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty frightened by a commoner, who clenches a large knife between his teeth. She throws her arm out in alarm as she kneels beside the bed, an overturned pillow on the floor nearby. At left, another man hides behind a folding screen with a sword behind his back. Curtains hang in the doorway, but the walls are shabby with cracked and missing plaster. Nice expressive figures in a handsomely detailed interior setting.
