Painting a Folding Fan, 1860

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a man on a boat painting a folding fan with a morning glory, a brush in his hand. He looks down with a frown, his brows slightly furrowed. Panels behind him feature a view of a rocky coastline dotted with trees, and a reed blind hangs overhead. Undulating waves splash against the side of the boat. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, staining at side. Please see photos for details.
