They hired the finest woodblock printers and carvers in the world for this endeavor. The resulting prints were some of the highest quality reproductions ever made. Takashima Ohisa - A lovely Utamaro portrait of the young beauty Takashima Ohisa in her private quarters, checking her stylish hairdo using a pair of hand mirrors, her face visible in the reflection of the mirror at left. She kneels beside a makeup chest wearing an informal kimono with a tie-dyed seashell pattern, tied with a soft red obi. The square title cartouche contains a rebus or picture puzzle spelling out the beauty's name. A wonderful print.
