Original Keiichi Takasawa (1914 - 1984) Japanese Woodblock Print
Shark-spot Pattern

Comments - Lovely large-format contemporary portrait of a beauty standing with her back to the viewer, looking down over her shoulder with a serene expression, her eyes closed, her lips a rosy shade of red. Her blue kimono is intricately detailed with a dotted pattern called "shark-spot," and tied with a white obi bordered with gray stripes. A flash of a dotted burgundy sash at her waist and the red lacquer hairpin add notes of color. This limited, first edition print is signed and numbered in pencil in the bottom margin. Keiichi Takasawa's stunning beauty portraits are highly collectible and rarely seen on the market. A beautiful image and a terrific modern design in the rare double-oban size. A great choice for display.
