Mitsumata in the Nakazu District of the Eastern Capital, circa 1840 - 1842 - Handsome view of Mitsumata in the Nakazu District. People stroll along the shore past boats anchored in the harbor, a pair of fishermen carrying their poles and two beauties carrying umbrellas. Sails rise above a grassy peninsula in the center with rooftops in the distance and a bridge across the waterway. A rosy glow spreads along the horizon as the sun sets. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection. A charming design from a rarely seen series.

Image Size - 8 3/4" x 13 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with nice color and excellent detail as shown. A few small losses and thinning spots at edge, slight separation at ends of vertical centerfold, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases at edges and small spots, a couple lightly rubbed spots in sky. Please see photos for details.
