Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Shirokiya Okoma, 1858

Comments - Charming kabuki portrait of the beauty Okoma, whose parents own the Shirokiya timber store. Here, she tilts her head with a flirtatious smile, flipping her long sleeve above her head. She wears a yellow plaid kimono over a red under robe, tied with a black obi with an iris on the end that reverses to a red tie-dyed print with irises. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun, adorned with a lacquer comb, hairpin, floral ornament, and ribbons. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Vertical centerfold. Slight soiling, a few creases and small spots. Please see photos for details.
