Japanese Matchbook Covers - We recently acquired an intriguing assortment of original, vintage Japanese matchbook covers. We estimate that they date from the 1920s through the 1940s, they advertise all manner of businesses, including hotels, bars, and photography studios, and products ranging from shoes and tires to beer and jewelry. Commercially printed with offset lithography, these quirky images are fun and unusual. Many feature art deco designs, bold colors, or interesting typography. This is a group of 10 matchbooks covers as below, including one with an image of Mickey Mouse. A great Japanese advertising collectible. Artist - Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Size - Smaller covers 1 1/4" x 2 1/8", largest cover 3 7/8" x 1 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Soiling, wear. Mickey Mouse cover has a tear at edge and wrinkling. Cover with building has a few holes. Please see photos for details.
