The 47 Ronin, Act 8: The Bridal Journey (Michiyuki) - Handsome scene of the bridal journey in Act 8 from the kabuki play "Kanadheon Chushingura," based on the famous tale of the 47 ronin. Here, the lovely young Konami and her mother, Tonase, travel a path near the water's edge during their journey to Yuranosuke's estate near Kyoto for her betrothal. Tonase sits on their luggage smoking a pipe as they take a brief break, the palanquin bearers resting nearby. In the background, the magnificent Mt. Fuji rises above the edge of the lake, framed by a tall pine tree. An attractive image.
