Gathering Shells at Low Tide - Charming scene of a beauty and a young girl gathering shells along the beach at low tide. The child holds back her sleeve as she reaches for a shell, while the beauty waves a greeting to some companions in a pleasure boat at right. The shore behind them is busy with people gathering shellfish, and man with a basket over his shoulder wades through the shallow water at left. Beautifully colored and detailed, with embossing on the white kimono trim, and burnishing on the hair.
