Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyogo Gosho), 1942

Eight Views of Kyoto - Handsome design from Tokuriki's series "Eight Views of Kyoto," which depicts famous sites his hometown. From cherry blossoms in spring to falling snow in winter, these charming images offer lovely views of Kyoto throughout the year. Interestingly, this series was published by Uchida during WWII in Showa 17 (1942), a time when few prints were being made. We rarely see woodblocks from this series.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top edge from original publisher mounting. Light toning. Please see photos for details.
