Adachi Taisho Era Reprints - This print comes from a reprint series of one hundred ukiyo-e masterpieces published by Adachi and printed by Kokko-sha Printing Company beginning in Taisho 13 (1924). Adachi issued two or three prints each month, expecting the series to take three years to complete. Prints could be purchased by subscription at a lower price. Each print comes mounted at two corners to the original folder with a title slip, accompanied by a text sheet in English or in both English and Japanese. A rare opportunity to acquire a fine quality reprint as originally issued.
A Courtesan and a Girl Attendant - Wonderful early Edo print by Toyonobu showing a young courtesan after a bath, gathering up the hem of her loosely wrapped robe. She holds a fan in one hand as an attendant offers her a covered cup of tea on a small red lacquer stand. An attractive design with a soft color palette.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small tear at edge, repaired. Toning, a few stains, crease and slight rippling at edge. Folder has toning and spotting, tear at edge. Please see photos for details.
