Maiko at Kiyomizu Temple

Comments - Attractive portrait of a maiko or apprentice geisha visiting Kiyomizu Temple in autumn. She pauses on the bridge, carrying a pale pink umbrella through which the edge of her blue and green kimono can be seen. Her white obi features a striking design of orange and black butterflies, and her hair is adorned with a cluster of delicate flowers. The temple can be seen on the opposite shore framed by green and orange fall foliage. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the hair and black geta clogs.
