Lasting Impressions of a Later Genji Collection - Handsome image from a series illustrating the famous Japanese novel "The Tale of Genji." Each print illustrates a chapter in Murasaki's beloved story with a scene from the life of Prince Genji, a nobleman of the Minamoto Clan. Beautifully drawn figures are accompanied by elegant furnishings, set against a background of subtle embossed patterns and clouds of confetti. Lovely detail in the sumptuous kimono fabrics and household items. A beautifully printed series dating from 1857 to 1861.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Tiny loss and slight thinning at corner, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
