David Stones - Born in England, David Stones first visited Japan in 1971. He began studying woodblock printing in Japan with Tomikichiro Tokuriki in 1972. He moved to the countryside near Okazaki, and had his first solo exhibition there in 1983. He exhibits widely in Japan. This print comes from a series depicting a persimmon tree in the four seasons, in a unique circular format, produced in a small, limited edition of 100. Each print is numbered, titled, dated, and signed in pencil along the bottom edge of the image, accompanied by a numbered certificate with biographical information in both Japanese and English inside. Works by David Stones are rarely seen outside Japan, and this is the first time we've offered his designs. A nice choice for a collector interested in contemporary Japanese prints or Western artists working in Japan.
