Takata Riding Grounds - Striking view of the Takata Riding Grounds, with a large archery target suspended from poles beneath a tree in the foreground. Samurai used the grounds for practicing martial arts. At right, archers take aim, several arrows already lying on the ground beneath the target, while on the track just beyond, two riders race past each other. Two horsemen race around the surrounding track. Beyond pines and rice fields, Fuji rises in the distance against the rosy horizon. Lovely rich color and fine bokashi shading.
