Nakagawa River Mouth - Two canals meeting at the mouth of the Nakagawa River were dug during the era of Tokugawa Ieyasu to facilitate the transport of cargo into the city. However, such easy movement also provided a quick way for enemies to enter the city. Thus, in the lower left corner, just barely visible are the roofs of a bakufu guard station. An attractively colored design, with the deep green of the land contrasting nicely with the softly shaded blue water and the red tinged clouds drifting across the sky above.
