Open Garden at Fukagawa Hachiman - Lovely view of the garden at Eitaiji Temple dedicated to Hachiman in Fukagawa, one of the most famous temple gardens in Edo. This colorful spring scene shows the red flowering azaleas and cherry trees in full bloom. Interestingly, the garden was only open to the public for a short period each year for the memorial ceremony of Kobo Daishi, the founder of the Shingon sect of Buddhism. Visitors stroll about the grounds around a large pond with several narrow bridges over the water, admiring the beautiful scenery. A classic Japanese garden scene.
