Armor-Hanging Pine, Hakkeizaka - Lovely view from Hakkeizaka or "Eight Views Slope," known as such because of the incredible panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The Tokaido Road can be seen running along the water's edge with Edo Bay beyond. According to legend, the great warrior Minamoto no Yoshiie hung his armor on the unusually shaped tree in the foreground while stopping to rest atop the bluff. Beautiful color and fine bokashi shading in this attractive design.
