1918 One Hundred Famous Views of Edo prints from publisher Uo-ya Eikichi - These 1918 prints are from a beautiful posthumous reprint release of Hiroshige prints by the original series publisher Uo-ya Eikichi. In 1918 Uo-ya Eikichi re-released a complete set of Hiroshige’s "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" in a small edition, with prints of the highest quality rivaling those of the lifetime edition. Using only the most skilled printers and carefully matching the paper and inks to the Edo era printing. This masterwork series includes some of Hiroshige's most famous and memorable subjects. Today, these prints are valuable and sought after by collectors. As Hiroshige's lifetime prints have continued to climb in price, this wonderful 1918 edition from Uo-ya Eikichi offers a great opportunity to collect these original Hiroshige designs at a much lower price. Shinagawa Susaki - Terrific panoramic view of a shrine dedicated to the goddess Benten on the edge of Edo Bay. The shrine is known as Susaki because of its location on a "susaki," a narrow spit of land extending out into the water. Two tiny figures pass through the torii gate leading to the red shrine building, while others cross the Torimi Bridge over the Meguro River at lower right. The water is dotted with cargo ships and fishing boats, with a flock of birds overhead flying off into the distance.
