Series; Thirty-six Flowers

Thirty-six Flowers - Handsome design from Kunichika's "Thirty-six Flowers" series in the unusual yotsugiri (half chuban) size. Each print features an actor set against a background divided diagonally with flowers above and a red tie-dyed textile pattern below. These smaller designs share the same attention to detail and composition as Kunichika's larger format works, and feature expressive, half-length figures in lively colors. The first time we've seen this series.
