Chiyojo by a Mosquito Net

Series; Mirror of Beauties Past and Present, 1875 - 1876

Chiyojo by a Mosquito Net - Lovely portrait of the beauty Chiyojo emerging from beneath a mosquito net. She smiles happily as she looks down, a hand resting atop her shoulder. Her tie-dyed kimono hangs open at the chest, worn over a red under robe, and a round fan rests against her knee. Her hair is pulled back into a loose knot tied with a white ribbon, a few wisps of hair framing her face and the area around her eyes softly shaded in pink. A beautiful design with exceptionally fine line work in the hair and mosquito netting, and faint embossed lines in the fan.

Artist - Yoshitoshi (1839 - 1892)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Partially backed with paper. A couple tiny wormholes, repaired. Ink offsetting, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
