Comments - Dramatic scene of the otokodate or street knight Sukeroku fighting the elderly samurai Ikyu, his rival for the attentions of the beautiful courtesan Agemaki. Sukeroku grimaces as he slashes at the older man, who stares back at him with an alarmed expression. Agemaki watches with a concerned expression at left, clutching the collars of her outer kimono, which trails onto the ground around her. A large wooden tub of water for fighting fires can be seen beside her, with blossoming cherry branches framing the night sky above. A handsome design with expressive figures and an interesting setting. Includes light cloth embossing on the white kimono.
