Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of an elegantly dressed beauty and a woman wearing a mask on the back of her head. Her eye can be seen at right underneath the blue and white dotted cloth covering his head, with the mask of a smiling, chubby-faced goddess Okame facing backwards. She wears a kimono backwards to help with the illusion, but the position of her hand gives her away. The beauty smiles with amusement, wearing an elegant golden headdress topped with a long-tailed bird and strings of beads. She holds a bamboo branch decorated with strips of white paper over her shoulder, a fan in her other hand. An intriguing subject, wonderfully detailed.
