Twelve Animals of the Zodiac - Charming design from a Tokuriki series depicting the twelve animals of the zodiac. He based his designs on traditional local toys from different cities and areas, creating a new series annually for several years. Each print is mounted along the top edge to a gold paper backing sheet as originally issued. Published by the Matsuku Printing Company, which Tokuriki founded after WWII to produce his own woodblocks as well as those of other artists. The first time we've come across these interesting designs.
