A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Adachi Taisho Era Reprints - This print comes from a reprint series of one hundred ukiyo-e masterpieces published by Adachi and printed by Kokko-sha Printing Company beginning in Taisho 13 (1924). Adachi issued two or three prints each month, expecting the series to take three years to complete. Prints could be purchased by subscription at a lower price. See example of publisher's information below (not included). Each print comes mounted at two corners to the original folder with a title slip, accompanied by a text sheet in English or in both English and Japanese. A rare opportunity to acquire a fine quality reprint as originally issued.

Osen the Beautiful of Kasamori - Lovely reprint of the famous beauty and teahouse waitress Osen seated on a bench at her tea stand, holding a fan which bears the crest of the popular actor Segawa Kikunojo. Next to her, a man gestures at a rack holding fans for sale which also feature kabuki scenes or actor's crests. He wears a striped kimono and holds a pipe, a striped cloth tied over his head. An attractive design with soft color.
