Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty with an Umbrella Kakemono

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty strolling with an umbrella in hand. She looks over her shoulder with a slight smile, her tongue just visible. She wears a checked kimono tied with a green geometric print obi, and tall geta clogs with spotted straps. Her hair is pulled back into two knots, adorned with a comb, and two hairpins, one decorated with a gourd and the other with an intricate floral medallion with beaded fringe. A charming image, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 29 1/2" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels, backed with paper. Small losses and holes, repaired. Toning, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
