The series includes some of Hokusai's greatest masterpieces. These fantastic images portray the strength and majesty of nature, leading the viewer to contemplate man's place in relation to the natural world. A truly magnificent series, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji justly remains Hokusai's most famous and highly regarded work.

Senju in Musashi Province - Interesting view of Mt. Fuji from Senju, a suburb of Edo. At lower left, two fishermen sit along the edge of a canal and fish from the Arakawa River. At bottom center, a farmer pauses to admire the scenery as he leads his tired horse behind him. At upper right, the vertical posts of a flood gate frame the mountain in the distance, with fields stretching across the plains at left. A handsome design with an unusual composition, nicely detailed.
