Japan Album No. 1 - Charming design from Kubota Beisen's 1890 series of twelve woodblocks simply titled "Japan Album No. 1." Beisen has chosen a range of subjects, but each print includes at least one figure in a nicely detailed setting. Bold calligraphic strokes contrast with delicate line work to add interest. An attractive Meiji era series.
