A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

The Bravery of Horsemen Fighting One on One at Kagoshima, 1877 - Fantastic image of two horsemen fighting one on one at Kagoshima. In the center, a rebel samurai holds his seat as his horse bucks, kicking its hind legs high. At left, an Imperial Army officer gallops directly at the rebel, leaping dead and dying samurai on the ground. Clouds of smoke billow across the background as troops in the center fire off a volley of shots. A dramatic battle scene from the Satsuma Rebellion. A rare Yoshitoshi triptych, which does not appear to have been recorded by Roger Keyes.

Image Size - 14" x 28 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Horizontal centerfold. Tears and thinning areas, a few small losses at edges and holes, repaired. Toning, soiling, creasing, wrinkling, slight rubbing. Please see photos for details.
