Guest in a Doorway

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a man sitting on the edge of a room beside a candle, looking up with a suspicious frown at a samurai kneeling in the doorway at upper left, a worried expression on his face. A basket of flowers hangs on the wall at upper right, and low window opens onto the garden at left. Nice detail in the architectural setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 18 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels, backed with paper. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, slight rubbing at edges, a few creases and ripples, stain. Please see photos for details.
