Series; Modern Eastern Brocade Prints

Palanquin, circa 1819 - 1820 - Charming scene of two women travelers, one sitting in a palanquin as she chats with her companion. She straightens her obi as she looks up, one sandal on the ground before her. The beauty at right is eating a snack from a small bag in her other hand. She wears a blue and white diamond and stripe patterned kimono over a red under robe, a cloth wrapped protectively around her hairstyle. An attractive design from a rarely seen Kunisada beauty series.
