Original Eisen (1790 - 1848) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty with an Umbrella Kakemono, circa 1843 - 1845

Comments - Lovely portrait of a beauty carrying an umbrella as she walks along, a package tucked under one arm. Her blue kimono is patterned with Genji symbols and hollyhock leaves, tied with a black obi that reverses to a brown chrysanthemum print. She smiles as she looks to the side, her hair pulled back into a neat bun with a few loose strands framing her face. An attractive design, beautifully suited to the narrow kakemono or vertical diptych format. A great choice for display.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 28 1/2" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. Horizontal folds. A few small holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
