Comments - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of an elegantly dressed courtesan out for a stroll. She wears a striking black outer kimono patterned with a colorful phoenix with long tail feathers, and purple paulownia blossoms with large green leaves. Her red brocade obi features a large floral motif with graceful yellow scrolls, and she wears tall wooden geta clogs with three "teeth" identifying her as an oiran or high-ranking courtesan. She smiles happily as she looks ahead, her hair ornately arranged with a large comb and many hairpins decorated with flowers and seashells. A handsome design, nicely fitting the vertical kakemono format.
