Record of the Valiant and Loyal Retainers - Handsome design from Toyokuni III's 1847 - 1852 series depicting the "Kanadehon Chushingura," the drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Toyokuni III sets expressive figures into carefully detailed settings that establish the scene, choosing less well-known subjects for some of the acts than what is traditionally depicted. A great series and a nice choice for a collector interested in this timeless tale of honor and revenge.
