Parody of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, 1862

Comments - Great kabuki triptych featuring actors as the Seven Gods of Good Fortune. At right, Nakamura Shikan stands in for Hotei, placing two balls into in open sack as he looks over his shoulder. The man beside him balances a red lacquer table piled with food atop his head. The beauty at left represents Benzaiten, the only female god of the group. A charming design with expressive figures, nicely detailed.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 29 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Slight soiling, a few wrinkles and creases. Please see photos for details.
