Beauty Reading a Letter Kakemono

Comments - Charming image of a beauty reading a letter, leaning back against a doorframe. Completely focused on the writing, she seems rather surprised at the contents, her mouth slightly agape as she looks down. She wears a beautiful rose checked kimono bordered with an orange and gray plaid featuring circular motifs of bats around a crescent moon. Her hair is piled high atop her head with many decorative maple leaf hairpins and a large comb. An attractive composition, beautifully suited to the kakemono or vertical diptych format.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 28 1/4" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. Horizontal folds. A few small holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
