The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers - Terrific Edo era design from the kabuki play "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Kanadehon Chushingura), Each print depicts a scene from the famous Japanese tale of the 47 ronin, who avenged their master's death. Beginning with the scene at the Imperial Palace and culminating with the night attack at Moronao's mansion, Kuniteru I illustrates the story with great drama and wonderfully detailed settings, along with handsome color and expressive figures. A fine choice for a collector interested in this classic tale of honor and revenge.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical centerfold. Tear and a few losses at corners, repaired. Wrinkling, creasing, slight toning and soiling, rubbing at edges, small surface loss. Please see photos for details.
